Creating instructional materials presents a big opportunity to scale your mission by reaching students who will never be able to visit your brick-and-mortar space in person. Some organizations have invested years into developing instructional materials for educators and host websites with vast repositories of PDFs, videos, infographics, and articles. Others are just getting started.

 

But whether you have instructional materials years in the making or not, you face a key problem: “How do you actually get teachers to use the content with their students?” Too often, we see significant and thoughtful investments in K-12 instructional materials fall flat and collect “dust” on the internet. In our bones, though, we at Doctrina Education Consulting are teachers. We have lived and breathed instructional materials development for the last ten years, and we see our core mission as serving teachers and their needs. We believe that instructional materials are a lever for change and one of the most important keys to unlocking student potential.

We serve organizations whose missions include a commitment to positively impacting K-12 education: museums, federal agencies, non-profits, and library systems for example. Working from current collections, upcoming exhibits, or existing instructional materials, we analyze the best opportunities for reaching a K-12 audience. 

STRATEGY PLANNING

We advise on organizational content strategy and approach to generate defensible K-12 instructional materials.

CAPACITY BUILDING

We support education teams in deepening their understanding of K-12 classrooms, curricula, learning standards, and instructional materials, empowering them to design and execute their instructional materials strategy.

MATERIALS DEVELOPMENT

We develop high-impact instructional materials alongside our partners, working within the strategy that best suits their needs - whether that entails supporting certain aspects of the process such as initial prototyping and materials design, development of indicators of quality and templates, or full project management of a large-scale materials development initiative.
